I have been lax as to posting, but not lax as to watching my birds. I saw a movie last night that was fun -- 'Bird Men'. The "real" expert got upset when his colleague called it "bird watching" and not "Birding". He would really hate a guy like me.
Out here on the porch with Diana Krall playing too loud and just saw a Song Sparrow. This is normally a common everyday bird here in Winter, but scarce for me this year. That is sad as it is the bird most often in the water entertaining all. Also, other ground migrants are less for me this year like the Junco and White-throat.
Here is a year around ground bird - the Rufous-sided Towhee.
Here is a Golden-crowned Kinglet.
Back now to Diana and a bottle of Urquell. Yall should really check out both. One of my cats is on my/her lap keeping me warm - Prancy. She likes "ground birds" but as a favor to me -- from a distance.
