I made it to the staring line of the Raider 5K at Habersham High School.
This was to be my second "dress rehersal".
I expected many teens would show from the track and other teams, but they did not. That was strange to me. Often at races liike this the young guys show up and of course burn up by half way as they battle each other having fun. The race was won by a 17 year old but not a local. He told me he was headed to Clemson when he saw my JEEP, and that made my day.
The course was not difficult. I tried to go out a little harder than last time and did. My time was 22:51.
I suppose that makes my goal race set for when I hit 70 in two weeks meaningless. The course will be tougher, and I may not even finish, but no matter, my goal has been met.
I started out fat and happy a year ago and have proved to myself (and anyone reading this crap) that we can all improve if we choose that path.
