I been kinda off the last week. By off, I mean lazy with less motivation.
I am resolved not to give in as I am very near my goal.
Yesterday I got in 5 miles with a few pick ups.
Today (rain) I just did a good work out on the treadmill. I managed to get in four 3 minute bursts at an 8:30 pace and all 7 miles at a 10 minute pace. That reads like nothing, but keep in mind I am near 70 and also where I started from.
After months of niggling injuries, I am doing OK. My muscles and tendons have improved. The ratio of running muscles is adjusting. I knew this part would be difficult, and why I set my goal a year off. As I have stated, any fool can run himself into the ground. My schedule has been bumped down a couple times as I had deceived myself as to how I quickly I would respond to regular training.
Sadly, my reduced cardio function is what it is for an old man. The improved "me" over last April is a miracle, but not much compared to my foot racing peers.
In March I need to work on improving my mental capacity for race discomfort (pain).
I continue my endeavor to persevere.
