When I first started jogging, read up on how to do it at the library (no internet then). There are many good books and lots of good information.
Running is not as simple as you might think.
I came across a book by George Sheehan that dealt with more than just "how" --> a lot more!
George Sheehan became a major force in my life. He wrote down things I knew, just never thought to think about. He is my favorite philosopher.
I just found your site and find it inspiring, especially since you posted this video of my friend from long ago. I first met him when I was a high school junior and he came by me like a wheezing, snorting old freight train. No way I was gonna let some old dude beat me. It was so long ago that I don't remember that he did. I just remember his 100% commitment to that and every run. Awe inspiring. A legend up here in the New Jersey coast.
Now I am the old geezer (61) and getting back into running like you and he did and am ecstatic to find that there are so many inspiring blogs on the internet. Hope to meet you some day.
